His death on the cross means our Resurrection, Revival and Restoration. In this context, Resurrection means being brought back to life something that is dead. As we remember and celebrate the resurrection of Christ from the dead, as we hunt for Easter eggs and all the shenanigans that comes with the season, God wants us to understand that this huge price was paid for our own Resurrection, Revival and Restoration.
“Romans 8:11 But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your portal bodies by his spirit that dwellers in you.”
God will cause us not only to be resurrected but also to be revived in every area of our lives which has gone dormant or dead. He is restoring lost times and opportunities.
“Joel 2:25. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”
Let me remind of us something quickly, the primary reason why the Israelites celebrate the Passover and the festival of the unleavened bread was because of the mighty hand with which God brought them out of Egypt. The unleavened bread represents the speed with which they left Egypt as they could not wait for their bread to be leavened as it takes a whole night. The passover is the blood of the sprinkling (lamb) which saved their firstborn sons from death in the last Egyptian plague, this became a memorial celebration, just as we celebrate Easter. Memorials are things that cause us to remember someone, an act of service or deliverance which is also meant to be preached to future generations.
Even after the Egyptians have been released from captivity by Pharaoh, He still pursued them into the red sea where he died with his cohorts. God took the Israelites through the red sea as a final deliverance from Egypt. This journey is similar to that of the salvation for the christian believer; the blood typifies the red sea, while the Egyptians typifies the devil the accuser of the brethren, the one who prevents people from being saved even to the last straw. When a person becomes saved, the life of the devil becomes dead in that individual, Romans 6:11; Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord. A believer is dead to sin and also to satan who is the author of sin.
In the Journey of salvation, it isn’t always cosy and beautiful, Challenges will come but believe me, He has overcome the world, Keep your eyes on the prize and keep trusting in him, he never fails. Tough times don’t last but tough people do. He won’t bring you this far to leave you, He won’t teach you to swim to let you drown, He won’t build a home in you to move away, He won’t lift you up to let you down. Most importantly Pray!
He loves you and He is with you even in that storm! Don’t give up. Remember he died so you could be Resurrected, Revived and Restored.
Happy Holidays 😍
